Why Your Flight Map Has Holes (And Why That Is Normal)
Quiet areas on a flight map are often misread. Ground receivers dominate coverage; oceans and mountains create gaps. Some regions limit redistribution. Aggregators drop packets. Many military aircraft never appear on public feeds. Dense North Atlantic tracks at dusk are the highlight; empty ocean is the baseline.
Before writing that aircraft "went dark," seek a second source. Describing thin coverage is usually the accurate story.
