God's Eye View online vs local installation

Most people are choosing between opening a tab and becoming the operator. GodsView AI is the tab. The public Cesium project on GitHub is the kit you run yourself.

What “online” means here

GodsView AI at godsviewai.com is already running. Aircraft, vessels, earthquakes, and fires are public feeds we keep warm. You do not npm ci. You do not paste a Cesium ion token or an AISStream key. Variations like godseyeview or gods-eye-view still point at this hosted map — we do not clone a thin page for every spelling.

What a local install is for

If you want to fork MIT Cesium code, run Pinokio, and own the process, use the GitHub project. That is a different team and a different product. We do not support running GodsView on your laptop.

How to use this view

  1. If you wanted a working globe in thirty seconds, launch the hosted map.
  2. If you wanted to study or fork a local globe, open the GitHub README — not this site’s install docs, because we do not have any.
  3. Compare features on the hosted vs self-hosted page, then pick one.

Data source, update rate, and limits

The hosted map uses the same class of public feeds a local globe would: ADS-B aggregators, AIS, USGS, FIRMS, TLEs. We operate the polling.

Hosted convenience is not an archive of global ADS-B history and not a replacement for specialist paid intel. Local installs fail when your machine sleeps. This site stays up.

Questions

Is GodsView AI free to open?

Yes. The live map does not require payment. Premium is optional for watchlists, kiosk, and heavier ops layers.

Can I download GodsView?

No self-hosted GodsView build is offered. Download usually means someone wanted the GitHub globe, which is a separate project.

Do I need API keys in the browser?

No. Keys stay on our side. You are not the operator.

Which one should a newsroom use?

The hosted URL. Producers will not keep localhost alive through a show.

Where is the long comparison?

The compare page and the blog article name the GitHub repo once, on purpose, so we do not turn every URL into a clone fight.
