Watch over your home and family

Add your home and the places the people you care about live, such as parents in another city or a child at university. GodsView checks each place against live hazard feeds and tells you when something serious happens nearby: an earthquake, a severe weather warning, a tropical cyclone, a flood, a wildfire, satellite fire detections close by, or air that is unhealthy to breathe.

How it works

Pick a place on the map or search for it, give it a name such as "Home" or "Mum and Dad", and choose a radius (50 km by default). You can see what is happening there right now, over the last three days, without an account.

With a GodsView Pro account the place becomes a watch: when a new event crosses the threshold inside the radius, you get an alert in the GodsView app or by email, with a link to the event on the live map.

What it checks

Earthquakes of magnitude 4.5 and above from the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS). Severe weather warnings from the U.S. National Weather Service. Orange and red disaster alerts, tropical cyclones, floods, wildfires and volcanoes from the Global Disaster Alert and Coordination System (GDACS). Fire hotspots from NASA FIRMS satellites. Fine-particle pollution (PM2.5) at unhealthy levels.

Alerts summarise what the source reported and link to it. They are not an emergency warning service: always follow your local authorities and official alerts.

Questions

What can I see without an account?

The live check: pick any place and see the earthquakes, warnings, fires, storms and air quality reported within your radius over the last three days. Saving places and getting alerts needs a Pro account.

Will I get an alert for every small tremor?

No. Quakes below magnitude 4.5 and minor weather notices are left out so alerts stay worth reading.

Is my location shared?

No. Places are stored with your account only to run the checks, and you can delete them at any time.
