Are there any blizzard warnings right now?

There are no active Blizzard Warnings anywhere in the United States as of Sun 2:23 pm EDT. Out of 356 active NWS alerts nationwide, none is of this type.

There are also 4 Winter Storm Warnings in effect.

What a Blizzard Warning means

Sustained winds or frequent gusts of 35 mph (56 km/h) or more with falling or blowing snow reducing visibility below a quarter mile for at least three hours. Whiteout conditions make travel extremely dangerous.

What to do during a Blizzard Warning

Do not travel. If stranded in a vehicle, stay with it, run the engine only briefly for heat with the exhaust pipe clear, and make the car visible.

Watch vs warning vs advisory

A watch means the ingredients are in place and the hazard is possible: be prepared. A warning means the hazard is happening, imminent or very likely: act now to protect life and property. An advisory is for less severe conditions that are still a nuisance or risky, and a statement is information that falls below those levels.

The companion product to the Blizzard Warning is the Winter Storm Warning, with 4 active now.
